“Taste the Past. Digital Media for Byzantine Heritage and Authentic Experiences in Northern Greece”

I had the honor of contributing as a speaker to Winter School 2026
an international academic initiative that brings together heritage studies, digital media, and experiential approaches to cultural tourism.

My lecture addressed women’s entrepreneurship in tourism, with a focus on gender perspectives in sustainable development, local economies, and the valorization of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Professor Aspasia Vlachvei and Filareti Kotsi for the invitation, their academic leadership, and their commitment to fostering interdisciplinary and international collaboration between universities, researchers, and local stakeholders.
I also thank the participating graduate students, doctoral researchers, and colleagues for the high-quality academic dialogue and knowledge exchange.
Initiatives such as this Winter School highlight the importance of integrating historical research, digital tools, and inclusive entrepreneurship in shaping contemporary heritage practices.
