10th Just Transition Platform Conference and Working Groups on Stakeholder Engagement DG Regio

 An inspiring Just Transition Platform Conference took place in Bruxelles on 15 and 16th of October. A more inspiring working group on Stakeholder Engagement on the 17th of October where knowledge, experience and willingness to support energy intensive regions paved the way to new actions. I would like to express my gratitude to all experts for their support.

Specific challenges the WG should respond to • How to ensure an inclusive just transition • Practical solutions for supporting and engaging marginalised and vulnerable groups • Reaching inactive and new groups • Raising awareness of the just transition process at the local level • How to combat dis- and mis-information about the green/just transition • How to combat resistance to change • How to overcome communication barriers and build trust and strong relationships • How to strengthen social dialogue • Ensure effective stakeholder engagement policies • Increase collaboration among stakeholders and geographies

The Priority topics of WGs are: 1. Strategy development 2. Narratives and communication 3. Policies and funding 4. Inclusion and diversity - for all relevant stakeholders (incl. new/inactive groups, vulnerable groups, marginalised communities, youth, citizens, CSOs, etc.): 5. Collaboration
